Who was/is your biggest inspiration and why? Jeff Newsom. His creativity is seemingly limitless. He also has done things “his way”, and created a niche group of clients for himself.
How long have you been shooting ? 5 years
Your favorite color? Blue
What piece of gear would they have to pry from your cold dead hands? My Spyder holsters. I mount 2 of them on a regular belt. No more straps or ugly camera belt
If you could do anything else what would it be? Use my photography to help foster the awakening of global consciousness.
How would you explain your style? Clean. The longer I shoot the simpler my style gets. I like natural colors and skin tones, effective lighting, sharp images, clear subject, and good composition.
What advice would you give someone starting out today? You know how to make a small fortune in photography? Start with a large fortune.
What do you mainly shoot? My favorite part about photography is that I can shoot a lot of different things. I get bored easily so I like to mix things up. I shoot weddings, family portraits, senior portraits, business portraits, products, corporate events, travel, nature, sports, editorial …
What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t shooting? Mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, and being with my lady.
What did you have for breakfast? I start most days with a homemade smoothie.
Favorite drink or cocktail? Jameson on the rocks
Most inspiring image you have ever seen? I’m inspired from so many different directions … creativity, composition, lighting, moments … I couldn’t just pick!
Coolest place you have ever traveled to for work? Well, the coolest places are in my future, as I’m going to be doing a lot more travel photography. Haiti and Bhutan are on the schedule for 2011.
